May 28, 14 Sunday: Celebrate the Life of Chris Cosich, ‘Honor Flight Long Island’ Founder

Please join HONOR FLIGHT LONG ISLAND on Sunday (6/1) as they Celebrate the life of Chris Cosich.

Anyone wishing to travel out east with us, can meet us at the Island Grill Diner in East Patchogue (Hospital Road, right off Sunrise Hwy).

We will be saddling up to ride to Southampton at 1130 hrs.

The below was taken from an email from Honor Flight Long Island

“Chris Cosich, Founder and President of Honor Flight Long Island died on Monday, April 21, 2014. His death has stunned us all and we mourn the loss of this great man whose heart touched so many in almost indescribable ways.

It is fitting and proper that we take the time to honor and thank Chris for bringing Honor Flight to Long Island, as well as, celebrate his professional and personal life.

Please, please help us to honor Chris.

This celebration will take place on Sunday, June 1st from 1p.m. to 3p.m. in the auditorium of Southampton High School on Narrow Lane in the Village of Southampton.

And we NEED you there!!

For the veterans of WWII who have flown with Honor Flight and our guardians, this will be the only opportunity to say “thank you” to Chris and to show our love and appreciation to him for making the magic of Honor Flight come to life.

We need your commitment to this effort. We want the auditorium to be packed! So, we need to know if you are coming.

VETERANS AND GUARDIANS – call 631-702-1945 – and simply leave a message that YOU WILL BE THERE! If you should need a ride, just let us know and we will try to accommodate, but we hope you can get a family member or friend to bring you. If anyone requires a wheelchair, please indicate this in your message and one will be provided. GUARDIANS: Now would be a perfect time to “reconnect” with your vet…maybe offer a ride and get a chance to chat. Tell us when you call if you need your veteran’s name and phone number!

So here is your MISSION: Be there… WE NEED YOU… Call now… do not wait. Now, it is our turn to say, “Thank you, Chris.”

P.S. – Please just call the above number and leave a message. However, if you absolutely, positively, must speak with someone, you may call Bill Jones at 631-287-3501 or e-mail him at”
