Veteran Peer Activity Nights – every Tuesday at the VAC

Nov 30, 15 Veteran Peer Activity Nights – every Tuesday at the VAC

Every Tuesday evening at the Veteran Activity Center (The VAC) we host a Veteran Activity Night.

The purpose of this meeting is to keep Veterans connected and let them know that someone has their 6.

This is a casual type peer group, doors open at 1900, chow is usually always available as well as refreshments and coffee, peer group setting starts at 1930 hrs.

The VAC maintains a food & personal care pantry which attendees can stock up and bring anything needed home. There’s a pool table, dart board as well as large screen TV’s in the rec area.

This peer night allows Veterans to hang out with other Veterans, talk about their week, or just sit there and listen of maybe provide an answer to someone else’s struggle that week. Some weeks we have activities, pack-outs, go to the movies or go bowling.

This is an ALL – VETERAN only night at the VAC as are all weeknight functions unless invited. We are making a valiant attempt to get younger Veterans down on Tuesdays rather then they get lost in the mix. We have a lot of resources and networks available, they just need to be asked for.

This upcoming Tuesday evening we will be packing and prepping Care Packages to send to 10th Mountain in Afghanistan as well as to some Service members that have sent us requests for supplies through our website.

We would like to invite as many Veterans as possible to Tuesday night (12/1) doors will be open by 1830 hrs. We will have dinner and we can use the hand with the packages, and most likely will be there for a few hours. Please help us by spreading the word to Veterans and encouraging them to stop down.

If you would like to sponsor a care package box you can do so by clicking on

We offer meals at every group meeting, if you would care to cook or supply a home cooked meal for a night please contact us.

The address of the VAC is 2184 Pond Road, Ronkonkoma NY. The phone number there is 631-615-2200.
