Attention Motorcycle Riders & Honor Flight Supporters. We are calling on the motorcycle riding community once again. On Saturday May 6th, there will be multiple motorcycle escort rides to escort World War 2 & Korean War Veteran Hero’s to the Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma. This has been going on for many years twice a year, when there is an Honor Flight scheduled. Here’s the plan there will be two escorts planned for the 4 Veterans, 3 live in south Nassau (Lynbrook, Seaford,  Amityville). 1 lives in Suffolk ( Manorville). Luckily, they all live near each other making the 2 routes easily planned. These Veterans did not have family / friends available to take them to the airport to and see them off or meet them upon return. We, the riders, will be these Heroes Family on Saturday May 6th.

The Nassau Escort will stage / KSU at 0430 hrs. at the Lynbrook diner. 401 Sunrise Hwy, Lynbrook, NY 11563. Frank Bania will be RC.

The Suffolk Escort will stage / KSU at 0515 at the Home Depot in Riverhead, 1550 Old Country Road, Riverhead, NY 11901 and / or at 0445 at American legion post 924 in Hampton Bays.  John Ryan /ALR Post 924 will be RC.

We will also have assigned cages with each escort that will transport the Veterans to the airport. So not only are we escorting these Men, but we are also driving them to the airport

Riders you can show up at any stage listed at the KSU times to ride with that escort in your area

If you wish to be part of the sendoff crew, please be at the airport by 0600 hrs. to line the terminal and wish the Heroes a great day. Some also need assistance getting out of their vehicles and into wheelchairs.

Many of you have been part of our welcome homes and send off over the years and we Thank You for your participation.

Thank you!!

 Frank Bania
