Food Pantry Drive and Care Package Supply collections - every 3rd Saturday @ The VAC at Boots on the Ground NY | Ronkonkoma | New York | United States

This is the 3rd Saturday of the month, so we’ll be open for a few hours for collections, this date/time is just for a food drive drop off. There will be a collection tent set up in front of the VAC to allow for easy drop off of items

 

What we need…..

Canned foods, such as soups, meals in a can, chef boy r dee, Chili. Cans / packets of tuna fish, turkey, chicken, fruit, etc

Frozen Foods- (we have 3 freezers and 2 fridges)

Pasta and sauce, Mac and cheese. Rice dishes.

Boxed foods, cereals, carbs, breakfast bars, etc

Coffee, (cans and k-cups)

Snacks, (individual packets).

Condiments

Cleaning supplies, laundry soap, etc

 

 

BOTGNY maintains food pantries that feeds hundreds of vets (between our location and other pantries we supply),

BOTGNY ships care package items twice a month to troops overseas,

BOTGNY also supply veterans in hospitals and inpatient programs with supplies they need, toiletries, phone cards, clothing (socks/sweats/t-shirt’s/underwear)

We also always need microwaves, coffee makers. pots/pans, kitchen ware sets, dishes, etc, or our Veteran Support programs (which helps furnishes homes of veterans who recently transitioned from homeless in housing.

 

Troops have requested supplies: Collection drive in effect. @ The VAC at Boots on the Ground NY

We have a request for some items for a Marine Unit on a very long deployment in the mid-East. We also have an Army unit in Korea near the 38th that have similar requests. They have requested and need the following:
Protein anything. Coffee + filters. Advil/Tylenol. wool socks & gloves. Winter beanies. Face masks. Blankets. Moleskin. Thermoses
Let’s all get them letters from Home and show them we are thinking of them and appreciate their service

Collection date for these items will be
Tuesday October 3rd, 1830hrs till 2000hrs
Tuesday October 10th, 1830hrs till 2000hrs
Saturday October 21st 1000hrs till 1500hrs

The Tuesday nights are just drop offs, if you would like to help pack what you pick up, then come down on Saturday the 21st.

Financial donations are needed to ship these items to the Troops, you can make a tax-deductible donation at www.BootsontheGroundNY.com/donate or mail a check payable to Boots on the Ground NY to PO Box 675 Bellport NY 11713 (with care package written in the memo line)

The food,  personal care pantries and pet food are available all evening.

Some weeks the group may go to outside activities, bowling, movies, adventure park, etc. so please check event each week, or call the VAC at leave a message at 631-615-2200

Please help us spread the word to Veterans, there is a place to go.

Anything said in the VAC stays in the VAC & sometimes you just need to be around other Veterans.

No paperwork, no fees, no membership, completely confidential. Anything said here, stays here.

Financial Bootcamp work shop for Veterans and Military families.
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, we host a financial workshop with doors opening at 1800 hrs. We have a very knowledgeable workshop leader who is also available for one on one counseling if needed
